ATOMIC
SIMAO are Ukraine's best kept secret. A mindblowing mixture of trippy
psychedelic groove and space rock textures. The child of the great underground
acid jam wave of the 60's, infused by a big inspiration from the 90's
electronic space music. By pulling elements from several genres and layering
them flawlessly, the band creates pretty solid tripped out tracks. Their music
memorizes with intensity and diversity.
In their
debut album "Nōdo", they create mind-enhancing psychedelic
soundscapes in an organized chaos of acid-jazz, psych rock, and space rock.
Listening to their music is like setting off on a long unexpected journey where
multiple story lines unfold simultaneously and you are caught in the middle,
observing and trying to figure out the places this trip will take you and how
it will conclude. These guys dig deep in their sonic exploration, creating
lengthy multilayered instrumental compositions with organic flow and an
excellent deal of improvisations. It's the sound of a progressive and
challenging hybrid of psychedelia and space rock; wild and untamed but at the
same time harmonious and very enjoyable.
