THE COSMIC DEAD "The Exalted King" (EYE 004)

"The Exalted King" is COSMIC DEAD's follow up to their 2011 self-titled debut cassette, which was for many the definitive mind expanding statement of the last 10 years. Now, their 2nd opus sees its reissue on double vinyl format, collecting the whole 70 minutes of the original cassette recording (specifically mastered for vinyl format), including an additional 8 mins track, exclusive to this release.

From the Icarus-like trance ascension of opener "The Exalted King", the band enters to a deeply mindblowing interplay between trip-rock experiments and cosmic ambition. Each album side is uninterrupted, a continuous stream of deep spaced out zones recalling the rich tones and pulse of your early 70s kosmische heroes with latter day stoned-out psychedelia. Sometimes wandering in silently dark semi-acoustic mysteries of the cosmos, and in the next moment orbiting to walls of sound with outer space echoes and alien atmospheres. The COSMIC DEAD know how to ride the edge of groove and gently cut back to spacey atmospherics to superb effect. The record explodes their sound in all directions; spacier, trippier, headier and far more expansive than ever.

Revivalists have attempted to capture and modernize the sound, and retro enthusiasts have grappled in authenticity, but the COSMIC DEAD are beyond: they ARE that sound! It's music floating so naturally that immediately puts the listener into a state where time seems to disappear. They invite you to experience intense flashbacks of tribal british space rock and 70's krautrock bubbled through a psych filter. A cosmic fan's nirvana. Not to be missed!

TEMPLE OF THE SMOKE "The Lost Art Of Twilight" (EYE 003)

"Music may be abstract, just like technology, magic, or nature. Sometimes, it's hard to find a logic even in patterns of our abstractly created universe. Bio-luminescence of fireflies and stellar moths will light through our eyes, melting meadows and skyscrapers in acid-like bliss.

Winds will change and the Crimson dawn is just about to appear to embrace the wildlife of our karmic shells. Birds are singing chants, summoning Mother to re-invoke our primal dreams, like echoing drums from the deep, alien slumber, mankind's eternal sleep... Moon is just a picture, oscillating sound, materialized circle of our astral archetypes.

It was written that were many ways to make a portals. We have seen fractals of mana butterflies creating mountains of love and light, an island in ocean of thresholds on starlight skies, radiating color out of space to shape the dreams of mankind.

It has begone. The floods came, and the astral wave has brought an instant change."

TEMPLE OF THE SMOKE's "The Lost Art of Twilight" is conceptual, mostly instrumental album, and is ontological sequel of firstborn "...Against Human Race". However, the songs are metaphorical fragments of the story, telling a tale of destruction and reinvention of the known world. Imaginary from George Sterling's nightmarish poetry or celestial fiction of Howard P. Lovecraft, Thomas Ligotti and Clark Ashton Smith, endless “pencil and paper” RPG wanderings (Kult, Changeling: The Dreaming and Warhammer), along with ritualistic acid drops on blotter canvases, revealed some of the portals... but there are thousands of them. Start your kaleidoscopic journey through various musical forms, a new age psychedelic space rock opera at the dawn of XXI century...

"The Lost Art of Twilight" was recorded during April 2012 in Digimedia Studio (Belgrade, Serbia).

Marko Ilić: bass / Janko Stojanović: guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals, analog and digital synthesizers, farfisa organ & field recordings / Dušan Žica: guitar, analog and digital synthesizers, melodica, vocoder, e-bow, sampler & dubs / Dragan Mirković: drums, electronic pads & percussions

PETE & ROYCE "Suffering of Tomorrow" & "Days of Destruction" 2LPs in 1CD release

PETE & ROYCE were one of the few local progressive bands operating in the greek late 70s underground scene. Led by painter Panayiotis Tsiros, they have made a name in the underground network, based on lengthy "hazy" concerts and an uncompromising underground attitude. Their sound was deeply rooted in the UK progressive scene, sitting somewhere between the prog/psych sound of mid-period PINK FLOYD and the mellotron school (FANTASY, CRESSIDA, KESTREL, early B.J.H.), resulting in a style heavily relying on mellow soundscapes.

During spring 1980 they captured on self-released vinyl the best tracks of their live shows. "Suffering of Tomorrow", was one of the very first greek private releases (on the mysterious Octoichos label) and the band's debut album, loosely based on the concept of death and decay (it is dedicated to Tsiros' deceased brother). A period piece undoubtfuly, but with that exquisite basement feel encountered in the early 70ies british proto-progressive bands it is one of the essential Greek progressive albums of all times. Their second offering "Days of Destruction" (1981 _Ocean) was somewhat more unevenly balanced, as folky progressive influences were blended together with a heavier more rock oriented approach; some light funkish sounds and guest female vocals. Yet eerie and inventive as their debut. They disbanded in 1982, during the era of the punk boom, due to general indifference towards their recorded output and their members were lost from the music scene.

Both extremely rare LPs of PETE & ROYCE are both available on a "side by side" 2 in one deluxe cd edition (mini LP sleeve including poster / insert with extensive liner notes and rare photos) on COSMIC EYE's parent label MusicBazz Corporation (http://www.musicbazz.com).
